The questions people actually ask.
Most of them have the same answer: £2.50, any address in the UK, up to 5 kg. The other 22 are below. If yours isn’t here, ask us — a person reads it.
What it costs
The whole price list is one line, so most of this section is about what that one line does not hide.
How much does it cost to ship a parcel?
£2.50 to any address in the UK, for any parcel up to 5 kg. That is the whole price list: no monthly fee, no minimum, no contract.
See the price list →Is £2.50 really the price to the Highlands and islands?
Yes. Lerwick, Stornoway, Kirkwall and St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly cost £2.50, the same as across town. Transit takes longer; the price does not change.
Are there surcharges?
No. There are no zones, no weight tiers, no volume tiers, no fuel surcharge, no oversize fee and no residential fee. One parcel, one price.
Do returns cost extra?
No. A return to your address is priced by the same one rule — £2.50, wherever it comes from.
What you can send
Weight, size and where it goes — the three limits worth knowing before you pack.
How heavy can a parcel be?
Up to 5 kg. Anything heavier — big boxes, pallets, freight — is outside what Shippi does.
How big or small can a parcel be?
Shippi has no minimum parcel size. Parcels follow Royal Mail’s parcel limit of 61 × 46 × 46 cm. A parcel outside that range is refused before you are charged for it, not after.
Where does Shippi deliver?
Every UK postcode — all four nations (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), including the Scottish Highlands and islands (Shetland, Orkney, the Hebrides), the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight. Shippi ships within the UK only.
Check coverage →Who actually delivers the parcel?
Royal Mail. Every parcel ships on the Royal Mail network as a tracked parcel.
Shipping day to day
Label, drop-off, tracking, and what happens when a label goes unused.
How do I get a label?
Orders arrive in the panel from your store, or you type one in by hand. Pick the order, confirm the box, and buy the label for £2.50. It prints on plain paper or thermal — both scan fine.
Where do I drop parcels off?
Any Post Office branch — there are about 11,500 across the UK. No appointment and no handling fee. If the parcel fits, a prepaid label can also go in a Royal Mail parcel postbox.
How drop-off works →Is tracking included?
Yes, on every parcel, never as an extra. Scans arrive at drop-off, in transit and on delivery, and the tracking number is written back to your store for the customer.
Track a parcel →Can labels print straight to a thermal printer?
Yes. Shippi Print is a small client you install on the packing computer; labels come out of the thermal printer the moment they are bought, with no PDF and no print dialog. It is optional — the browser PDF always works.
About printing →What if I buy a label and never use it?
Ask for it to be voided within 30 days and the £2.50 goes back onto your balance. A label the carrier has already scanned cannot be voided — once a parcel is moving, it has been shipped.
Connecting your store
Bring your orders in from a shop, a spreadsheet, an API, or type them yourself.
Which platforms does Shippi connect to?
Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, Square, Squarespace, and Etsy in beta. You can also import a CSV export, connect any platform through the Shippi API, or run without a store and type orders straight into the panel.
See the integrations →Do I need an online store at all?
No. Type an order in, or import a spreadsheet. Plenty of people ship this way and never connect anything.
Is there an API?
Yes. Buy labels, read tracking and receive webhooks over a documented REST API, with keys you mint and revoke yourself in the panel.
Read the API docs →Can my team have their own logins?
Yes. Invite the people who pack: an owner runs the store, someone who ships can buy labels, and a viewer can only look. Everyone signs in with their own email, and the activity log records what each of them did.
Paying for labels
A prepaid balance, no contract, and card details Shippi never sees.
How do I pay?
Labels come out of a prepaid balance that you top up from the panel — the minimum top-up is £50, in multiples of £10 — and every label and every top-up shows as a line on your balance.
What happens when the balance runs out?
A label the balance cannot cover is refused rather than sold, so a parcel is never half-shipped. The panel warns you before you get there.
Who can claim the deposit offer?
Every new and existing prepaid customer can claim one offer per account: pay £237.50 for £250 balance (5% off), £450 for £500 (10% off), or £1,000 for £1,250 (20% off), in GBP. Previous deposits and other amounts do not use up the offer. See Rewards in your dashboard.
How do weekly shipping rewards work?
Ship 50+ orders for £50 credit, 100+ for £100, 250+ for £250, 500+ for £500, or 1,000+ for £2,000. Only the highest tier is awarded per account each Monday–Sunday week. All historical qualifying weeks count. Each order with a purchased Shippi label counts once; extra boxes do not add orders and voids can reduce rewards. Credit is split by order volume across prepaid stores. Credits never expire and have no cash redemption value.
Do you store my card details?
No. Card payments are handled by Stripe and card numbers are entered in Stripe’s own form — they never reach Shippi’s servers.
Is there a contract, or can I stop any time?
There is no contract, no subscription and no minimum volume. Ship one parcel a month or a thousand; the price is the same and you can stop whenever you like.
